Since 1944, Connie’s Family Restaurant has proudly served the wonderful city of Berwyn from the exact same location. Originally founded by Connie and John Kallas as Connie’s Snack Shop and Johnny’s Bar, our name has evolved over the decades, but our unwavering commitment to quality food and a welcoming, clean environment remains exactly the same.
Our story is a true multi-generational family tradition. In 1968, Connie and John hired their nephew, Bill, who came from their shared village in Greece to run the kitchen. Bill didn’t just cook; he built deep, lifelong friendships with our guests—and if you ask, he still has plenty of great stories to share today! In 1978, Bill and his wife Toula took a leap of faith and purchased the restaurant, which was then known as Connie’s Coffee Shop.
After years of hard work growing the business while raising a young family, Bill and Toula took another chance in 1988, investing everything they had into a complete remodel to create the beautiful restaurant we have today. Decades later, their son Andy returned to his roots to take over the family business where he first started.
Today, Connie’s has expanded to include our spacious Event & Party Room, a Private Gaming Lounge, and full-service offsite catering. Yet, through all of our growth, one thing will never change: our commitment to you. Generations of customers have walked through our doors, and to us, you are all family.
